On Tuesday, August 20, 2019 in the city of Córdoba, Argentina, the Córdoba Youth Meeting for Sustainable Development was carried out at the National Technological University of the Regional Faculty of Córdoba, a member of the SDSN network. The event was mainly aimed at young people interested in environmental and social urgency at global, regional and local levels.
This event was organized by the SDSN Andes network through its local coordinators in Argentina, the engineers Franco Maestri and Cecilia Buffa, together with the Secretariat of Institutional Linkage and University Social Responsibility, represented by Elga Velazquez and Marcelo Bravo. Other organizations collaborated in different ways, such as Green Drinks Córdoba, the Municipality of Córdoba, the Argentinian Confederation of Junior Enterprises, the ODS Córdoba Forum, the Food Bank of Córdoba, Fridays for Future Córdoba, the Tierravida Foundation and the symphony orchestra of the Civil Association Benjaminos.
The framework of the event was the SDGs and the 2030 Agenda, mainly oriented towards SDGs 1, 10, 12 and 13. The topics were on the environmental side, the climate change linked to responsible consumption and on the social side, poverty linked to inequality. To develop these issues, there were plenary talks, discussion panels and workshops linking academy, government, companies, and NGOs for the development of an intersectoral dialogue and an integrated approach.
