About Us
Network of Solutions for Sustainable Development
The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) was created in August 2012 and has operated since then under the auspices of the Secretary General of the United Nations. SDSN is guided by a Leadership Council that brings together world leaders in sustainable development from all world regions and social sectors. Dr. Jeffrey Sachs is the current president of SDSN.
Generated three years before the adoption of the 2030 Agenda, initially the SDSN mission was to mobilize scientific and technological knowledge, worldwide, to contribute to the design of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Currently, the focus of the SDSN is to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement. To build a global network of organizations that generate knowledge and are committed to sustainable development, SDSN has created national and regional chapters.
