About us
Sustainable Development Solutions Network
The Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) was created in August 2012 and has operated since then under the auspices of the Secretary General of the United Nations. SDSN is guided by a Leadership Council that brings together world leaders in sustainable development from all world regions and social sectors. Dr. Jeffrey Sachs is the current president of SDSN.
Generated three years before the adoption of the 2030 Agenda, initially the SDSN mission was to mobilize scientific and technological knowledge, worldwide, to contribute to the design of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Currently, the focus of the SDSN is to promote practical solutions for sustainable development, including the implementation of the SDGs and the Paris Climate Agreement. For more information on SDSN, visit this link.
To build a global network of organizations that generate knowledge and are committed to sustainable development, SDSN has created national and regional chapters.

- Mobilize academia, civil society, private companies, governments, foundations, and international organizations to identify solutions and implement and support initiatives to achieve the SDGs and the Paris Agreement in the Andean Region.
- Support governments, communities, and other interested parties, in the implementation of strategies to achieve the SDGs and the Paris Agreement in the Andean Region, through scientific support and relevant knowledge for decision-making.
- Disseminate solutions and good practices through publications and information in the media with a sub-national, national, regional and global reach.
- Promote and support education programs on sustainable development, to train future leaders of the Andean Region.
To achieve this, SDSN Andes is constituted as an inter-organizational, intersectoral and interdisciplinary network, made up of a unique combination of leading organizations, inside and outside the region, focused on working for the sustainable development of Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela.
