Countdown to 2030: Leaders Unite for Sustainable Development in Santiago

From March 31 to April 4, 2025, ECLAC in Santiago, Chile, will be the epicenter of the eighth meeting of the Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development. This crucial event will bring together senior government officials, UN experts, and representatives from various sectors to assess the progress and challenges of the 2030 Agenda.

More than 600 participants will explore ECLAC’s report “Latin America and the Caribbean and the 2030 Agenda Five Years Ahead: How to Manage Transformations to Accelerate Progress?”, which analyzes the obstacles and strategies for achieving the SDGs. “Action dialogues” will be held at the global, regional, and national levels, focusing on topics such as financing for development, gender equality, climate change, and the implementation of specific SDGs (3, 5, 8, 14, 17).

The forum will include side events organized by civil society and other stakeholders, preceded by civil society and youth meetings. The opening will feature regional and UN leaders. Journalists are invited to register for in-person coverage.
