“Wiki-Mira” is under construction!

WIKI MIRA

The SDSN Andes is creating a wiki-type information platform which will be an accessible and free repository of organized and systematized information of the binational Mira-Mataje basin, within an online system that will permit continuous updates/edits and contributions from anyone; thus democratizing information and “crowdsourcing knowledge” (allowing for participatory information and knowledge building).

“Wiki-Mira” platform is an important next step in making information useful and mainstreaming all available information on the binational basin though one shared “place”.

This online repository of information will:

  1. Be open to the public.
  2. Include an interphase (in English and Spanish) to browse through the data, as well as a search engine to allow for quick access to the information. The information will be organized, and include search filters, by geographic level (basin, sub-watersheds, and sampling units) and by category (e.g. ecological, and socioeconomic & cultural),
  3. Include a series of summary articles, as well as downloadable documents and databases (large files will be stored in a cloud system),
  4. Allow for continuous external contributions, edits, and updates of its content (alike “Wikipedia”). External entries will require user registration, and will be automatically notified to the administrators for review and approval.
